Kabul Dance Studio

THANK YOU

We would like to thank everyone who has made generous donations to the Kabul Dance Studio this year. We received dozens of shoes, leotards and costumes and are grateful for everyone's willingness to get involved.

We would also like to thank the Slabaugh family for donating a beautiful dance floor! We know this is the most amazing dance floor in the entire region and are humbled by this incredible gift.

Biggest Need:

Shipping the new floor to Afghanistan will cost thousands of dollars! If you would like to become a part of this exciting opportunity to bring joy to Kabul dance students, please join our efforts by making a donation to the Kabul Dance Studio

NEW BEGINNINGS THROUGH DANCE

THE VISION:

The expression of movement through dance is an art form that crosses all cultural lines. I discovered this in a deeper way after we moved to Afghanistan. Years ago my best friend and I talked about opening a dance studio. We thought we were going to make it BIG! Eventually, the reality of growing up, families and careers overshadowed that childhood dream until I recently realized how much I wanted our daughter, Ava, to experience what Kerry and I had with dance classes, recitals, rehearsals and costumes.

THE PLAN:

Boys in Afghanistan have far more opportunities to be physical than girls and we want to be the feet of new beginnings in this place. We are currently working to open a small dance studio in Kabul to share dance with those who have not had the chance to enjoy such a beautiful expression. As we grow and discover how to teach what we love, we hope to expand this art to all interested girls in Kabul.

HOW TO HELP:

We are working to find sponsors and donors who are willing to share their heart with these girls through financial or tangible donations such as shoes, leotards, tights, costumes, etc. Your gift helps reach girls who otherwise may not have the opportunity to enjoy the dream of one day becoming a ballerina!
